tambourine man

the other day i saw a young subway musician. This white kid had a guitar and a harmonica and hes doing a pretty nice rendition of tambourine man.

but that's not what i'm talking about. the crazy part is that a mexican wandered over and dropped some cash in his guitar case. A mexican! Holy shit!! folksy white boys are being supported by mexicans.

But really that's not the point. The point is that you know the kid is poor and not very talented because

a) he's singing on a subway
b) he's singing the song the way it was originally sung. basically his voice has no unique quality or character so that's great karaoke but sucky potential

That's really bathetic. The point though is that bathetic is a real word. I know it sounds like a mallu trying to say pathetic. But that would sound more like bathhetigg da.

But i digress, whats really interesting to note is that sidewalks have little patches of dirt for trees to grow in. Two by two holes in the sidewalk. That by itself is not interesting. What is key in this story is that the mexicans working in the deli on my corner are growing corn in one of these dirt patches. As Jeff Goldblum's character in Jurassic Park says "life, uh, finds a way"

But then you would have to allow for classifying mexicans as 'life' and 'a way' as the right to grow and consume maize that is watered daily with dog pee.

the mind boggles. All you haters out there better realise that mexicans and other hispanics are important members of society. Just like any other socio-economic and cultural bloc, they too are idiots.

Got a little couch potato?
